Professional Engineering Computations was founded in 1987 by a mechanical engineer who designed vacuum systems. The goal was to save time running commonly used, but laborious vacuum calculations. VacTran has been in continuous development ever since. From the beginning, the VacTran design philosophy has been to use only proven formulas and tested algorithms, wrapped in a user interface that affords both a short learning curve and the widest applicability to the diverse reaches of the vacuum industry.
